Social Creativity site Stringsta is launching collaborative learning for schools and colleges via a revolutionary new platform that handles all media formats within a simple, collaborative interface.
Simple Co-operation
It makes co-operation between students and teachers for planning, creating and assessing multimedia narratives, reports, scripts or any other assignment extremely simple and engaging.
Beyond Sharing
Creative collaboration means going beyond simply sharing videos, audios, images and text and instead actually joining with others in the process of generating and editing content, as well as allowing viewers to comment on, re-edit, vote for and give ratings to the work as it evolves.
Project Networks
Small or large project groups can work together via their own private networks controlled by a teacher or mentor. Work can be showcased at any point at the touch of a button.
Cross-curriculum
As well as creating fiction, the software can be used for assignments right across the curriculum, from zoology to algebra - linking content, conducting experiments, making a documentary, writing a report, collecting survey data, archiving a discussion, playing a game....
An earlier prototype test in 3 schools had students pestering their teachers to go out and buy it from PC World (no need as it's an entirely online service!)
